While visiting Nevada’s high desert in Eureka County, make sure to stop off at the Bartine Hot Springs. This hot springs site is perfect for a romantic trip, being that one of the pools is shaped like a heart and offers stunning scenic views.
The Hot Springs
The Bartine Hot Springs, sometimes called Bartine Ranch Hot Springs, offers 3 different spots for soaking and relaxation. Whichever you choose you can rest assured that you are getting pure, mineral water straight from the source.
During the day, you’ll have a fantastic 360-degree view of the flat Nevada landscape, with mountain ranges lining the horizon. At night, the starry sky is overwhelming in its luminescence, and some nights you can see the milky way galaxy. There is no light pollution here and soaking in the warm waters instills a sense of deep relaxation and calm.

The three pools vary in size: one being 4×4 feet, the other 4×8 feet, and the last is a heart-shaped pool that can fit 4 visitors. These pools are all situated away from one another to give a sense of privacy and seclusion. The temperature ranges from 102-108, depending on the time of day and thanks to the inflow and outflow pipes, the water is kept clean and pure with every soak.
The area around the Bartine Hot Springs is lush grass and during the rainy season, it can get very muddy. It is not advised to try and drive up to the area, but rather park and walk from the road.
Heart-Shaped Pool

Made from stone, the 3-seater heart-shaped pool is the perfect place to share a romantic moment with your special someone. This is the newest addition to the hot springs and is located about 500 feet from the other tubs.
With the sides and bottom of the heart-shaped pool being made from stone, algae will make things slippery, so use caution when entering and exiting. There are brushes here so that you can wipe down the interior when you are finished to help cut back on algae growth.
To help make getting undressed easier and keep your clothes clean, there is a large rug located outside of the heart-shaped tub.
