Bear Lake Hot Springs – St. Charles, Idaho

November 9, 2022 By //  by Patricia K

Bear Lake Hot Springs is a little-known treasure in the northeastern part of Bear Lake in St. Charles, Idaho. Two hot mineral pools, a cafe, several campsites, camping supplies, a full-service water sports rental concession, and long stretches of sandy beach are all available at this resort.

Between Memorial Day and Labor Day, you can enjoy the Bear Lake Hot Springs Resort and campsite. Day visitors and overnight guests are welcome throughout the facility’s operational season. Boating and fishing are among the activities available at these hot springs for lake and boat enthusiasts.

Natural Hot Springs

The natural mineral hot spring resort is about 15 miles north of Garden City, UT, on the famed North Beach beach. There are two swimming pools, and the temperature in each one is kept at 103℉.

The Bear Lake Hot Springs is supplied by an on-site source that produces around 75,000 gallons per day of mineral-rich hot spring water. The pure geothermal water is pumped from the springs and circulated through outdoor bathing pools.

You’ll have to pay to take a dip in these hot springs, and it is not clothing optional. Visitors love soaking while taking in the stunning surrounding environment, which is as beautiful as it is relaxing. There are no lifeguards on duty at the pool, and there’s a maximum capacity of 40 people.

The pools can be rented out for private gatherings and parties. Even during the winter, they’re available for such events, but since the facilities have to be winterized, there are no changing rooms or bathrooms.

The Beach

It’s not hard to get your beach fix while vacationing at Bear Lake. There is a mile of shore right in front of the resort, and an additional two miles of sand, known as North Beach, that is available to guests. After a day at the beach, relax in one of the hot tubs, feast on delicious food, and sip on your favorite beverage at the campground.

Accommodations

Bear Lake Hot Springs has several tent camping and RV sites on the property. Visitors love staying and enjoying the night sky, fresh air, and access to the water. During the open season, a small store sells conveniences and last-minute items that guests may have left at home. This is a pet-friendly venue, but they must stay leashed and out of the water.
