Blackstone Hotsprings, New Mexico

Blackstone Hotsprings – Truth or Consequence, New Mexico

June 2, 2022 By //  by Michelle Keldgord

If you’re looking for a genuinely unique soaking experience in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, consider the Blackstone Hotsprings. You can spend the night here and soak in hot mineral pools.

This desirable hot spot features a quirky atmosphere, each room featuring a flashback theme to old-school television shows and movies such as Star Trek and The Golden Girls. Each comes equipped with its own hot spring spa for your pleasure, too.

The Blackstone Hotsprings originated in 1920 with the name “Star Rooming House.” From there, the business expanded in the 1940s, creating two additional buildings known as the “Blackstone Apartments and Baths.”

Today, the area has been restored and is now a prime location for those seeking rejuvenation in a stimulating environment that thrusts them back in time.

Blackstone Hotsprings is fed by an enormous aquifer found underneath the T or C downtown district. The aquifer pumps all-natural, highly concentrated mineral water that is beautifully crystal-clear and free of any undesirable sulfur odors typical of these waters.

There are two options for soaker-seekers.

For one, you can book a room (reservations required, two-night minimum) at this thrilling resort. Each room comes with an intriguing theme filled with original artwork and retro furniture. Even more exciting, rooms come with a private, luxurious hot springs spa for utterly serene relaxation.

Secondly, you can opt to soak without a reservation. There are three top-notch outdoor hot spring spas to choose from, all of which are entirely private – so you can unwind without commotion. Of the three options, you will find:

  • The Red Bath. This handcrafted, two-person bath is designed for superior relaxation. It comes complete with a stunning Saint Albans fountain that distributes cascading waters, ambient mood lighting, and multiple soaking depths for your enjoyment.
  • The Yellow Bath. This is another two-person bath with its own distinct features, including a Route 66 retro seating area and a modern fountain that trickles water to enhance the mesmerizing experience.
  • The Turquoise Bath. The largest of the three, the Turquoise Bath is suitable for up to four people and comes with plenty of ledges to find that “sweet spot” while soaking. Here, you can enjoy the same lovely amenities, like the ambient lighting and cascading fountain.

While you can book one of the luxurious outdoor baths for 45-minute intervals, you won’t want to stop at the Blackstone Hotsprings without spending at least one night. Why? Because their themed rooms are truly a one-of-a-kind experience you won’t want to miss.

Blackstone Hotsprings may be a must-visit spot for rejuvenating hot spring baths, but what they’re most known for is their intriguing lodging. The hotel comes with ten rooms to choose from, each one featuring a different throwback television show or movie that’s brought to life through artwork and furnishings.

Stepping inside one of these rooms, you will instantly be propelled back in time. Whether you’re booking The Adventures of Superman (the largest option) or Wonder Woman, you can expect an incredible, all-encompassing experience – all of which includes unlimited soaks in the in-room hot spring bath or spa, of course.
