Broadwing Farm Cabins Hot Springs Tub North Carolina

Broadwing Farm Cabins – Hot Springs, North Carolina

March 25, 2022 By //  by Emily Johnson

Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Broadwing Farm offers private access to one of the only hot springs aquifers in North Carolina. This organic and wholistic farm has three cabins that visitors can reserve, and each comes with a private hot tub filled with warm water from the natural spring that makes Hot Springs, North Carolina, so popular.

This lucky find is located just a mile outside of downtown Hot Springs. Guests are welcome to come by and reserve one of the three cabins they have available.

History

In the eastern US, it is rare for hot springs to exist. It was a surprise for settlers to find, hidden on the banks of the French Broad River, naturally hot water. While the natives knew about this long before, it was a thrilling surprise for these explorers. The town of Hot Springs was created and immediately it drew crowds of people interested in the restorative mineral waters.

In 1992, a family bought 85 acres right outside of Hot Springs with a dream of becoming homesteaders. They started up a family farm and spent several years tilling the ground and planting all kinds of crops. With greenhouses to keep up with and markets in Ashville to provide their organic plants, the family was incredibly busy.

It wasn’t until 1999 that they discovered they were sitting on some of the same natural springs that had been discovered closer to the banks of the French Broad River. They had been drilling for drinking water when they made this discovery.

Deciding to switch over to cabin rentals, they began to focus on maintaining a smaller organic farm and carpentry while they built up three cabins for guests to reserve to use the natural mineral water. Broadwing Farm has been providing guests with a unique opportunity to reserve a cabin, with a hot tub full of natural spring water, for their private use.

Each of the three cabins on the property comes with an individual hot tub. These tubs are connected to the aquifer that pumps naturally warm mineral water into the hot tubs. Each of the tubs can fit several people. To be able to access these clean and well-kept tubs, guests must rent one of the cabins that go along with it.

The water is naturally around 85° F. When it is pumped into the hot tub, guests can adjust the temperature to be anything from 80-104° F. Every guest can find the perfect temperature to soak in while they look out over the dense forest of pines. This exceptional experience was not always a thing. While Hot Springs has a long history of tourism and attraction, Broadwing Farm is a newer development.

Cabin Accommodations

There are three unique cabins for lodging at Broadwing Farm. Guests can choose from the Cedar Cabin, the Popular Cabin, and the Pine Cabin.

Cedar Cabin – The Cedar Cabin sleeps four people. It has one bed and one bath. With a private queen in the bedroom and a double futon in the living room, this quaint cabin offers a one-level haven. The cabin is stocked with a full kitchen, WIFI, A/C and propane, and a TV. There is everything you might need for a comfortable stay. The most impressive feature is the roomy screen porch that is big enough to serve as an extra room for living, eating, or sleeping.

Popular Cabin – The Popular Cabin sleeps six. It is also a one bed and one bath. It has a private queen bedroom and two double futons with one upstairs and one downstairs. Like the Cedar, it is furnished with everything someone needs for a vacation stay. It has high ceilings and large windows that look out over the mountains and valley. You can even go out on a deck and enjoy the glow of the stars or the sunset. There’s a grill and outdoor dining area included.

Pine Cabin – The Pine Cabin sleeps four. It has one loft bedroom and one bathroom. The queen bed is located in the loft while the double futon is downstairs. This one truly has a comfortable glow to it with a deck along the back showing the pond and mountains.

Broadwing Farm does have a rustic barn that can be used for any type of event. It can hold up to 150 people and, if you rent the barn, you get two of the cabins as part of the deal. There are available hotels in Hot Springs for any guests who do not fit in the two cabins.
