Desert Hot Springs Spa Hotel – Desert Hot Springs, California

Surrounded by both the San Jacinto Mountains and San Bernardino Mountains, you’ll find it easy to soak away your worries at Desert Hot Springs Spa Hotel. The relaxing resort is located less than 20 minutes from Palm Springs International Airport.

It’s also an easy 2 hour drive from either San Diego or Los Angeles, making it the perfect escape from the California hustle and bustle. The resort showcases classic mid twentieth century architecture, with a true Cali palm tree vibe. While in town visit Joshua Tree National Park, located thirty minutes northeast.

Hot Springs Pools

There are 8 hot springs pools to choose from, seven whirlpools and one Olympic size pool. Each is filled with hot mineral water from the underground hot springs aquifer. They range from 90 to 104 degrees Fahrenheit.

All are centrally located in the beautiful open courtyard. Large palm trees add to the soothing ambiance. The mineral water here has a soothing scent, no rotten egg smell, and even tastes great they say.

Overnight guests enjoy complimentary 24 hour access to the pools and hotel amenities. You can also just visit for the day from 8am to 10pm. Swim and soak in any of the eight pools, lounge in the courtyard and use the dry sauna. There are shower room facilities for changing and bathing for day use guests. There is also food and drink available poolside.

Spa Treatments

There are dozens of affordable options to choose from at the on-site spa. Choose from 11 varieties of massage, 15 body treatments and masques, 10 facials and 10 beauty treatments. There are also 4 “Tween” treatments perfect for teenagers. They use the top of the line brands in their spa therapies, including Mistral, The Body Deli, Sothys, and L’Occitaine.

Dining

The on-site Sunshine Cafe & Sports Lounge has been serving the local community for more than 30 years. The Sunshine cafe is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner from 7am to 11pm. You can dine in the restaurant, or have your order delivered poolside or to your room.

You can enjoy cocktails poolside or in the Sport Lounge until 2am. It’s a classic sports bar with TVs broadcasting most major games and events on 4 big screen TVs, as well as 2 large screens. There’s also live entertainment ranging from country and rock bands, professional jam sessions, karaoke and open mic nights.

Overnight Accommodations

The Spa Hotel features a myriad of room types to suit your budget and needs. There are 50 hotel rooms that wrap around the central courtyard and hot springs pools. All permit ADA Defined service-animals and come with free internet. Choose from a king or two queen beds in the spacious guestrooms. Each has a sofa bed and refrigerator to help with extended stays.

There are also mini-suites and poolside rooms, each with a private patio allowing quick access to the courtyard. Rooms with balconies overlook the hot springs pools. While mountain view rooms have terrific views of the San Jacinto Mountains.

In addition to the hotel rooms, you can stay overnight in one of the 3 Villas. They are perfect for groups and families. Each is fully furnished with 3 bedrooms, situated next to the resort with access to all its amenities. You can soak right in your villa to with a private hot tub, or barbecue outside and play in the grassy yard. Villa II is the biggest with 2 hot tubs and its own pool, complete with waterfall.
