Located just outside of Brawley, the Five Palms Hot Springs are a verdant oasis in the middle of the Californian desert. The clothing-optional thermal soaking pool is far from civilization, so don’t expect to find any conveniences there.
Mineral Hot Spring Pool

There is just one modest, circular pool that fits a few soakers in Five Palms. Despite its primitive location, a small but continuous number of people visit these springs. The oasis is a calm haven in the middle of the desert, with warm spring water pouring from a pipe at about 91 °F into a small pool. The thermal water is knee-deep, but it’s home to several tiny fish and frogs.
While it’s preferable to visit in the cooler months of autumn and spring, you may still enjoy a refreshing swim at sunset in the summer if the trees provide enough cover.
Getting There

A 4×4 vehicle is suggested for the unpaved route leading to Five Palms. This natural spring respite is accessible by a 1.6-mile drive along a sandy dirt road. Even while regular cars may make it there, four-wheel-drive vehicles are usually needed due to the soft sand.
Five Palms is located a few miles directly south of the Calcite Mine Trailhead, off Borrego Salton Sea Way (S22 highway) to the east of Salton City,
