Heise Hot Springs – Ririe, Idaho

October 11, 2020 By //  by Matt Thomas

Idaho has a wide range of hot spring options from very primitive to full on resort relaxation. Heise Hot Springs is an all-inclusive soaking destination that offers so much more than just a long hot bath.

After a long afternoon of golf or zip-lining, visitors can relax in this wonderful, natural, mineral hot spring before grabbing a bite to eat and tucking in for the night. Included in your Heise Hot Springs experience is an extensive campground, golf course and Heise Zip, a zipline tour of ten separate lines that extend over 1.5 miles of terrain.

History

Heise Hot Springs are some of the oldest geothermal mineral waters in Idaho. They date back to the 1890s when a German immigrant, Richard Camor Heise, discovered these magnificent hot springs amongst a beautiful landscape. Heise was a trader and loved to soak in the natural hot waters for relief. Eventually, he set up the area and built pools and a wooden building for his family and visitors.

These springs are still known to be a stress-reliever as visitors travel all year round to soak. They claim that the water cure all of their aches and takes their pain away. The best part is that the place offers something for everyone. Whether you go with family or with your friends, there are many activities for which the Heise Hot Springs is popularly known.

Hot Springs Pools

Heise Hot Springs has both a natural mineral hot spring that maintains a temperature of 104°F, year-round. There is also a warm pool of freshwater that is kept at approximately 92°F. This pool is ideal for small children and families.

The Heise Hot Springs offer a large outdoor summer swimming pool with a 350-foot waterslide. The swimming pool area is great for family reunions and for kids to play around. During the Idaho summers, this pool can help you cool down after that long drive. The swimming pool is open for the public and offers great facilities such as diving and options for snacking for everyone to enjoy.

The natural hot water springs are away from the swimming pool and the place offers the best of both worlds! You can enjoy the swimming pool to cool off and then head off to the natural hot water springs that are rich in minerals. Both the places have separate tickets but are close-by. The natural water is rich in minerals and nutrients, which helps relieve stress and soothes the pain. It is tried and tested so make sure you don’t leave the place before experiencing it yourself!

RV Camping

The campground is beautifully groomed and offers both dry and full hook-up camping options. RV camping can be a revitalizing experience when you’re surrounded by nature in the middle of nowhere. It is the perfect getaway for a long weekend as it is affordable and enjoyable. There are grassy areas for picnics and other facilities that can take your RV camping experience to the next level.

Golfing and Zip Lining

The major attraction of this place remains the fun activities that it has to offer for everyone. Golfing and zip lining a rare offer at a hot springs resort. However, Heise Hot Springs in Idaho offer an executive golf course surrounded by mountains. You can rent the gear for low rates. Heise Hills Golf Course provides a unique course in a lovely mountain setting.

The zip line adventure is one that the entire family simply must attempt to conquer over and over again.  The zip lining has two courses that run side by side, making it more adventurous. The zip lining also accommodates children and the elderly. The highly trained staff is assigned to large groups or privately, so you can pick your tour according to your preference.

Dining

You can’t miss out on the legendary pizza that has been served at Heise Hot Springs for decades. End the day at the Pizza Parlor on site and you will no doubt lay your head down feeling like you have had a day you will never forget. Enjoying delicious, fresh-baked pizza by the wood fire is a relaxing and soothing experience after a long day in the outdoors.

Don’t forget to check out their snack bar and other items on the menu when you are there! The great food adds to the wholesome mood of the place.
