Kaiser Hot Springs – Wikieup, Arizona

December 25, 2021 By //  by Natiaha Murphy

Arizona is a popular state among outdoor adventurists and pleasure-seeking enthusiasts, especially for those looking for a quick hot spring soak. Take a mile-long hike to reach Kaiser Hot Springs, a primitive oasis hidden within the Kaiser Canyon walls.

Situated near Wikieup, Arizona, adventurers will find this primitive hot spring tucked away within the beautiful, high canyon walls. The Kaiser Hot Springs offer a great place to unplug, lean back, and soak in the healing mineral water that nature provides.

There is a natural rock wall separating the two side-by-side soaking pools, with temperatures staying a near-constant 100°F, year-round.

Those looking to camp nearby can do so at the Burro Creek Campground, managed by the BLM.

Getting There

Reaching the Kaiser hot springs involves a moderate mile-long hike down a dry river-bed. The trail to the Kaiser hot springs isn’t marked, but don’t worry, you won’t get lost! You can park alongside the road and then hike down under the bridge to begin your journey.

The site is easy to spot, as it is directly along the trail, and your tired muscles will soon find relief as you turn the corner and see water bubbling out of the earth and spilling out around the earthen pools.

There aren’t any trail markers along the way and nothing that should detract you from your course, so enjoy your view as you adventure down. It’s best to wear hiking shoes, as the ground is soft and uneven.
