This 2,300-acre property located in the Allegheny Mountain Valley is known for its beautiful healing springs as well as lush golf courses and plentiful activities. As a four-season resort, you will find plenty to do that will be both exciting, adventurous, and relaxing.
Founded in 1766, The Omni Homestead Resort has spent the last 240 years perfecting hospitality and becoming one of the premier travel destinations for those visiting Virginia. Originally focused on the healing hot spring, the first building was constructed and had a revolving door of famous visitors, from George Washington to Thomas Edison.
It has since been renovated into a sprawling resort, filled with an array of amenities and top-tier architecture. There’s even downhill skiing and snowboarding on-site at Homestead Ski, one of Virginia’s exciting ski resorts.
Natural Warm Springs
Two major springs flow from the Allegheny Mountains, and these head to and through the Omni Homestead Resort. Discovered by Native Americans over 9,000 years ago, these healing waters have long been held in high esteem by all who bathed within them.
They offer a multitude of healing properties, with their high mineral content, and will help with everything from skin issues like eczema and psoriasis to digestive issues and electrolyte imbalances.
The Jefferson Pools are naturally heated and do not require any assistance from the Resort, giving you a pristine and natural experience when soaking in their waters. First admired by Thomas Jefferson in 1818, who used them 3 times a day over 3 weeks, they have since drawn visitors from all over the country.
The Gentleman’s Pool House is an octagonal white building, built in 1761, and happens to be the oldest spa structure in the US. With 43,000 gallons of water constantly flowing in and out, this spring water pool was constructed for both men and women until the Ladies’ Pool house was built, offering more privacy.
The Serenity Garden is an adults-only, mineral spring-abundant, in-house vacation destination.
The Geothermal Octagon Pool is chock-full of minerals and stays at 96° Fahrenheit year-round. Fed from the hot springs, soaking in these waters will clear your mind, relieve your stress, and heal you from the outside in.
Here, you will also find the River Reflexology Walk, where stones are carefully placed to massage the thousands of nerve endings in your feet, relaxing you throughout your entire body.
In the center of all of this is the Infinity Pool (85°-92°) and the Intimate Hot Tub (103°), both of which offer beautiful views and incredible healing opportunities.
