Minimalists and maximalists will love the River Mountain Resort of Everett, Pennsylvania, an intriguing getaway from the city, which offers the ideal combination of breathtaking views and fantastic experiences. Whether you stay in their main lodge or glamorous yurts, you’ll enjoy an unforgettable adventure sitting on 150 acres of nature, plus access to cedar hot spring tubs.
Heated Natural Spring Tubs

Although the River Mountain was not acclaimed initially for its extensive hot spring options, the resort has made it a goal to bring this sublime experience to its visitors. That’s why River Mountain is introducing the Cedar Hot Soaking Tubs, a series of small tubs designed to heal the body and bring peace to mind and soul.
The Cedar Hot Soaking Tubs are filled with spring water derived from the 14 natural springs found on the 150-acre campus. The tubs will be manually filled and warmed up, creating a superbly soothing experience with mineral healing properties you won’t find in “traditional” hot tubs.
Activities

Debuted in early 2023, the Cedar Hot Soaking Tubs will surely be a hit, however, they’re not the sole reason to travel to this exciting location. River Mountain is also home to many other thrilling and rejuvenating activities, whether you’re looking for a relaxing outing or want to get your heart pumping.
If you’re seeking something to do during your stay, consider checking out the “Signature Experiences”, including Coffee with a View, Happy Hour, and Campfires. Here, you can gather with your loved ones morning, afternoon, and night, having a good time while enjoying delicious fare and spectacular views.
River Mountain is also the place to find daily activities that will pique your interest. While these change with the seasons, some typical offerings include: horseback riding, honey tasting, massages, and hikes. Nestled nearby 30,000 acres of secluded nature, including access to Sweet Root Creek and Warrior Ridge, there’s plenty to see while meandering through.
Events

Events, big and small, can also take place at this lush resort. The event areas include:
- Main Lodge – The “central point for living well”, this lodge gets plenty of sunlight and lots of space for yoga, private massages, and lots of lounging around.
- Big Red Barn – The Big Red Barn is a restored mid-19th-century barn that combines rustic and wholesome architecture from the past with updated features.
- Historic Log Cabin – Another blast from the past, the Historic Log Cabin is a restored cabin from 1807 used as a dining hall and breakfast area. With the handcrafted tables, hand-hewn timber, and crackling fireplace, it’s truly a warming and welcoming location.
- Yoga Platforms – The Yoga Platforms are available for yoga classes. They are perfectly placed in the Black Valley, offering impeccable sights of Warrior Ridge, Sweet Root Cree, and Tussey Mountain.
Opt to create your own event or engage in one of the many events held at the resort year-round. Some of these exciting events include all-inclusive family getaways, Memorial Day weekend celebrations, and Valentine’s retreats.
Dining

When you step foot onto the glorious grounds of the River Mountain, you’re not going to want to get off. And by all means – don’t. When your belly starts to rumble with hunger, you can simply opt to head over to River Mountain’s Graze Kitchen. Here, you can find tasty breakfast, lunch, and dinner options.
Graze Kitchen not only offers tremendously palatable foods, but it also invites guests with a delightful atmosphere. But don’t feel the need to stay put in the cabin. Take your meal onto other grounds of the resort to enjoy all of the scenic settings this place has to offer.
Accommodations
The resort offers four exciting accommodation options for its visitors, ensuring everyone can find their ideal way to stay. Of these choices are the main lodge, modern cabins, glamorous yurts, and tents.
Main Lodge

The main lodge rooms are the updated version of the cabins you slept in during summer camp. They offer expansive windows with prestigious views of Warrior Ridge. Nearby the hot tubs, dining, and favorite events like Happy Hour, you will never miss out on the action.
Each room comes with air conditioning, heating, and restrooms, plus a shower and full kitchenette directly next to the room. There is also an extensive common area with a TV and a campfire pit.
Modern Cabins

If you’re looking for something a little more outdoorsy yet still impressively contemporary, consider the Modern Cabins. With lovely views of Black Valley and the Mountain Ridgeline and plenty of lush scenery, it’s an escape your eyes will thank you for.
Not only that, but these accommodations are close to the commons, have amazing skylights over the beds, and a meadowy area that calls for outdoor games and playtime.
Glamping Yurts

Want lodging that’s a bit more private and completely unique? Then stay at one of the “glamping” yurts on campus. Here, you can enjoy an entirely heated and cozy yurt with two queen beds and views of Black Valley and Mountain Ridgeline. With skylights to the stars, campfire pits, and charcoal grills, the yurts offer a thrilling outdoor experience for all.
Tents

Lastly, you can stay in one of the fantastic tents offered by the resort. These tents are named “Tents in the Trees”, as they’re completely engulfed by lush foliage. They’re known for being secluded yet still close enough to be a short distance from all of the thrilling events and activities the campus has to offer.
