Roosevelt Baths & Spa – New York

The Roosevelt Baths & Spa is a part of the Gideon Putnam Resort & Spa in the Saratoga Spa State Park. Even though guests can book overnight stays at the resort, the spa itself is a day facility open to anyone. Reservations are required in advance to book a treatment or session.

The spa was established in 1935 after former President Roosevelt created his clever act to preserve the Saratoga Springs region. There are 42 regal, original treatment rooms on the property within Saratoga Spa State Park.

Spa Services

Guests must be at least 18 years old to use the spa services. There is a variety to choose from, catering to visitors who enjoy different forms of relaxation.

Mineral Baths

This hydrotherapy spa has naturally flowing, bubble mineral waters running through its pipes. Visitors can book 40-minute sessions for soaking or use the tubs for 20 minutes prior to another treatment. The water is kept at between 97-100℉ and is set up for one person at a time for each use.

Facials

The facial treatment at this spa is extensive and designed to give visitors the ultimate glow. The three basic skin care treatment options are a spa facial, a gentleman’s spa facial, and an express facial. Six extended skincare facial selections include a choice of a Gemstone Facial, Yam and Pumpkin Pro Peel Facial, Super “C” Facial, Acne Facial, Mangosteen Gentle Resurfacing Facial, and Hot Paprika Facial.

Products for purchase are offered after sessions to prolong the effects of the care.

Massages

Massages coupled with a few minutes in the mineral baths are perfect for completely decompressing. Classic massages offered are Swedish, Deep Tissue, Pregnancy, and “Gently Relieving Techniques.” The more advanced options include the Melt Away Stress Massage, Exhale Massage, Focused Tension Relief Massage, Good Karma Massage, Muscle Therapy Massage, and Foot Massage.

Well Being

Well-being treatments are guided sessions that incorporate meditation, yoga, and overall mental cleansing. These are 60-90 minute experiences.

Body Treatments

Body treatments are great for revitalizing your skin and overall body with a selection of luxurious scrubs and wraps. The Detox Seaweed Wrap, Warm Mud Wrap, and Gemstone Clay Body Masque are detoxifying and nourishing. Body scrubs such as the Sugar, Bourbon Bubble Brown Sugar, Sea Salt Glow, Muscadine Moonshine Sea Salt, and Watermelon Basil Vodkatini Sea Salt varieties leave your skin bright and smooth.

Spa Day Packages

Create your perfect spa day with one of Roosevelt’s day spa packages. They have a few pre-designed assortments with multiple services and offer a custom package option to choose your own itinerary.

Wellness Activities

Visit the spa’s calendar of wellness activities to find the perfect fit for your next yoga class, workshop, or instructor training course. It’s best to contact the practitioner directly when signing up for an event and bring all the necessary gear along with you. The calendar has dates as far as a year out.

Policies

The spa has a few policies to ensure that all guests get the experience they are coming for.

• Reservation cancellations must happen 24 hours before spa treatment or class.
• Please arrive 30 minutes before the appointment time to ensure everyone gets the exact time they pay for.
• Any medical conditions should be pre-approved by a physician before using the spa.
• Remove all jewelry before going to the spa, and don’t bring a laptop or mobile phone inside.

Dining

The Gideon Putnam Resort is the place to eat after a spa treatment. There are two places to eat on-site, including the year-round Putnam’s Restaurant and the seasonal outdoor Putnam’s Patio. Modern American cuisine is served here, and the menu offers a delicious selection. A weekly Sunday brunch is also provided at the main restaurant.

Gideon Putnam Resort Lodging

The resort has 123 guest accommodations with standard rooms and suites. All rooms have been renovated and include a flatscreen TV, WiFi, air conditioning, iron with ironing board, hairdryer, in-room telephone with voicemail, and daily room service. The front desk provides a free newspaper. The check-in time is 4 pm, and the check-out time is 11 am.
