Planted in the heart of Old Montreal, this branch of Spa Scandinave has a more urban appeal. Sweeping vistas are perhaps more powerful at some of the other locations, but Vieux-Montréal is a contemporary masterpiece offering the same promise of a peaceful experience.
Beautiful indoor spaces create a feeling of coziness and otherworldliness. It’s an escape within and from the bustling city. For those coming from Ottawa, the drive to Scandinave Spa Vieux-Montreal typically takes between two and two and half hours.
Baths
Vieux-Montréal is slightly smaller than Scandinave Spa’s Mont-Tremblant spot. While they have many of the same services, there are fewer features. However, like all the spa locations, the baths here contain both bromine and chlorine for sanitary reasons and are not sourced from a hot spring aquifer.
Hot services:
- Eucalyptus steam bath
- Finnish dry sauna
- Hot bath
- Thermal waterfall
Cold services:
- Cold plunge pools
- Cool showers
Relaxation areas:
- Heated bench
- Zero-stress room
- Relaxation area
Massage
Therapies at Vieux-Montréal include the following: Swedish, therapeutic, deep tissue, prenatal, lomi atsu, Thai with oil, and couples. For those unfamiliar with the technique, lomi atsu combines lomi lomi and shiatsu techniques with the use of oil.
Dining
There are no restaurants on-site, but smoothies, tea, and water are provided. Luckily, there are plenty of high-quality options in Old Montreal.
Hotels
There are no overnight stays on the property, but as with the other locations, they offer a list of partner hotels, one of which is a two-minute walk away.
Another option in the Quebec province is Scandinave Spa Mont Tremblant, located roughly 140 kilometers and two hours, give or take, depending on traffic. It happens to be tucked away just a few minutes from the Mont Tremblant Ski Resort, making it an exciting retreat whether winter or summer.
