Zims Hot Springs is in the gorgeous Meadows Valley, which is just a short drive from New Meadows, Idaho. The Little Salmon River flows through the springs and cools the water in the outdoor pools that are filled with natural mineral water from an artesian well.
The waters are open year-round but closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Season passes and group rates are available.
Hot springs were important spiritual and ceremonial sites for the Nez Perce people. The springs were a culturally significant part of the tribe’s traditional area, which was once known as Chinook Meadows. Bighorn sheep horns were brought to these natural springs to be softened so they could be fashioned into bows.
Natural Hot Springs Pools
There are two pools on the site. The main swimming one is 90-100 ° F., while the smaller soaking pool is 100-105 ° F. In addition to swimming, the facility also has a snack bar, and arcade games and is an excellent spot to relax throughout the year. You may rent anything from a swimsuit and towel to a locker for your belongings. You can buy swim diapers there if you need them.
Swimming is not clothing-optional; wearing the proper attire is required. There’s also a picnic area, bike area, and locker rooms for guests to use and enjoy some time outdoors.
Camping
The property has a campground with 12 RV parking spots and several primitive campsites. An RV dump site is available for those who need it.
