Located on five beautiful acres of highlands in Jemez Springs, New Mexico, the adobe-style Canon Del Rio Inn & Spa is a year-round lodge and day spa with an incredible backdrop. This bed and breakfast in the Jemez Valley canyons is decorated in a Southwestern style and is located right next to the river.
This wonderfully built mini-retreat is tucked away from the main tourist drag in Santa Fe, but it’s well worth the trip if you’re looking for some peace. There are various relaxing spa services and spots to unwind in hot water baths on the property.
It’s an excellent place to set up camp and is approximately a 90-minute trip to Santa Fe. No pets or guests under the age of 14 are allowed on the property.
Natural Hot Springs
Dramatic mountain vistas may be seen from the inn’s enormous natural mineral pool, surrounded by a terrace and grass.
The pool is open during warmer months when the water temperatures average between 60 and 80℉. The hot tub, which lies between 100 and 104℉, is ideal for stargazing in the evening. Chlorine is added to treat the water. A strict dress code is in place, and swimming attire must be worn.
The Jemez River, which flows through the property and is fed by natural springs, is another fantastic place to go swimming.
The Spa
The two spa treatment rooms are spacious and comfortable, despite the facility’s modest size. Massages of 30, 60, and 90 minutes are available, as with various other spa services such as mud wraps, hydration wraps, facials, salt glows, and hot stone treatments.
With the purchase of an hour-long Spa service, guests of the Canon Del Rio Inn & Spa are given access to the property. The river grounds, hot tub, and sauna are available throughout the day.
Accommodations
The eight cozy rooms at this peaceful spa B&B provide spectacular views of the nearby mountains. The rooms in this suite all share the same tile flooring, dim lighting, vaulted wood ceilings, and Southwestern decor.
A private bathroom with Mexican-style countertops and eco-friendly toiletries is included in each room. Every accommodation has direct access to our year-round outdoor amenities, including the spa, pool, and river.
Guests may unwind in the Great Room, which has a high cathedral ceiling. In the lobby, large windows overlooking the landscape and mountains are great for setting the mood of the property. There’s also Southwestern and modern artwork from the on-site gallery and lots of comfy seating.
Dining
At the large table in the Great Room, guests may enjoy a hearty cooked breakfast each morning. Just a short drive away are two excellent eateries, Highway 4 Coffee and Pig + Fig Baker Cafe.
