Situated in Southeastern Idaho, Maple Grove Hot Springs is a natural healing retreat aimed at personal growth. It’s located in Thatcher, ID adjacent to the Oneida Narrows Reservoir.
There are a number of hot springs pools and unique accommodations, including yurts, tent structures, a wood cabin, and wooded tent camping. The boutique event center welcomes seminars, weddings, reunions, workshops, and other group stays.
The resort encompasses 45 acres in the Bear River Valley. Wildlife is common and includes turkeys, geese, swans, and deer. In addition to the 4 hot springs pools, there is a riverfront beach, stand-up paddleboard and kayak rentals, a reception lodge/bathhouse, a farm, and local hiking trails.
Mineral Hot Springs Pools
Tucked into the Bear River Valley, these sacred hot springs have rejuvenated humans for thousands of years. The native Shoshone tribes used them and later the local farming communities.
There are two main source ponds, an upper and lower that fuel the resort’s soaking pools. They are filled with natural lithium mineral waters from deep underground. The upper pond has water reaching 180+ degrees Fahrenheit, while the lower has 160+ degrees Fahrenheit. Swimming in them is forbidden and deadly.
There are 4 soaking pools at Maple Grove Hot Springs, fueled by the above mineral waters. 3 of them are situated riverside providing a wonderful view of the Bear River/Oneida Narrows Reservoir. These circular stone pools are heated to 104-109 degrees Fahrenheit. There is also a bigger pool with cooler swimming temperatures from 85 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
Hot springs use requires a phone or online reservation to visit. This assures no overcrowding and a more intimate connection with nature. Once a month they host open-plunge weekends that don’t require a reservation. All guests have 24-hour access to the hot springs pools.
Overnight Accommodations
There are 15 units to choose from at Miracle Grove, which includes yurts, cabins, canvas tents, and campsites. All the units are fully furnished, except for the mountainside campsites. All overnight travelers have 24-hour use of the hot springs pool and 45-acre property.
