Nestled in the beautifully lush rolling hills of Caledon in Alton, Ontario, Canada, you’ll find a countryside health and wellness getaway known as the Millcroft Inn and Spa. With a 100-acre picturesque landscape and plenty of revitalizing activities, the Millcroft Inn and Spa will quickly become your new favorite escape from the city.
History

The Millcroft Inn and Spa was initially constructed by Benjamin Ward in 1881 as the Alton Knitting Mill. The company had a predominant run up until 1965 when the mill shut down and was reinvented to become what is now known as the ultimate countryside escape.
Although the building was thoroughly renovated, great care was taken to preserve the original architectural beauty and surrounding areas. That said, visitors can now enjoy a blast from the past while being engulfed in new-age luxury.
Hot Spring Pools

Millcroft Inn and Spa offers two sumptuous outdoor hot spring pools with temperatures hovering around 104°F. The combination of warm temperatures, high mineral content, and beautiful scenery creates the superior spot to soak your troubles away.
As firm believers in the European tradition contrast hydrotherapy, the resort also offers a nearby “polar plunge pool” with temps as low as 45°F. Guests are invited to alternate between the hot and cold pools to enjoy all of the therapeutic benefits of contrast hydrotherapy, from increased energy to relief of aches and pains.
While overnight guests have full access to these incredible pools, day passes are also available for visitors. Day passes allow entrance to the two outdoor hot springs pools, polar plunge pool, and other exciting amenities. Clothing required.
Amenities

Millcroft Inn and Spa has raised the bar in terms of health and wellness amenities. A quick look at their long list of relaxing, rejuvenating, and thrilling activities proves they’re on a mission to provide their guests with a remarkable and transformative experience.
While the outdoor hot spring pools and polar plunge pool are an undeniable perk to this resort, they’re not the sole options for hydration and relaxation. The resort is also equipped with a heated outdoor pool (around 45°F), an indoor pool for swimming laps, and a Eucalyptus steam room and Finnish cedar sauna to pique your senses.

Dining

When you enter the Millcroft Inn and Spa, you won’t want to leave. And to be frank, you don’t have to. The resort offers two luxurious places to dine, ensuring you don’t ever have to step foot off of the grounds.
The Headwaters Restaurant is the best option if you’re looking for a fine dining experience with an impeccable ambiance and breathtaking views of the surrounding lush landscape and shimmering Shaw’s Creek Falls. For something slightly more laidback, you can opt for a glass of wine and casual fare at The Headwaters Lounge.
Regardless of which restaurant you attend, you can guarantee jaw-dropping scenery and some of the most refreshing plates in town. Don’t hesitate to try the honey from local honey bee hives or the maple syrup that’s said to taste “Just like Canada,” sourced directly from the 25 acres of sugar maples on site.
Accommodations

There are three distinct lodging options at the Millcroft Inn and Spa, each with a spectacular combination of European and Canadian relics and modern inventions.
