El Dorado Hot Springs Pool Tonopah Arizona

El Dorado Hot Springs – Tonopah, Arizona

May 14, 2022 By //  by Matt Thomas

An “oasis in the desert”, El Dorado Hot Springs offers several soaking options, including private soaks, as well as overnight accommodations. It’s located about an hour west of Phoenix in Tonopah, Arizona.

The town name of “Tonopah” means “hot water under the bush” in the local Native American language. The resort is situated over subterranean hot springs with an average temperature of 107° Fahrenheit and a PH of 8.2. It’s heated naturally from underground and has no sulfur odor.

Some say that it’s like bathing in liquid silk.

The seasonal temperature varies from warm to hot, however, it’s always a reinvigorating and healthy soak.

The Desert Saloon is a 1 personal relaxation and reading area that can be used. Desert Pete’s Bunkhouse is here, which is open for overnight accommodations. There are no phones, cameras, or alcohol permitted at Desert Pete. You can soak by the hour or purchase an all-day pass good for 12 hours.

Desert View – Another hot springs pool that can host 4 to 6 people. It also includes a shower, cold tub, fire pit, lounge chairs, and a view of Saddle Mountain.

Lodging

Desert Pete’s Bunkhouse – There are two rooms for rent. They include a choice of 2-1 hour private soaks or unlimited soaking in the Desert Pete area, however, you can’t choose both. Check-in time is 3 pm and out at 1 pm.

Mariposa – Situated in the Desert Pete area, it’s a smaller room with air conditioning and heat. There is a bathroom next door, as well as a coffee and tea service. The room can be rented year round.
