Haven Hot Springs Pool is located in a picturesque rural part of Idaho with breathtaking views of snowy peaks that make bathing in the pool even better. It’s a family-friendly, welcoming place ready to meet new guests and make them a homemade meal.
Kirkham Hot Springs is just down the road on ID-21 if you’re looking to pool hop.
Mineral Water Pools
Officially established and open to the public in 1951, there are two parts to this 75×30-foot pool, the hotter end, and the cooler end. The former sits between 101-104℉ (38-40℃) while the latter is between 85-98℉ (29-37℃) depending on the time of year and the weather. Private soaks are an option for those looking for a more solo adventure.
While the pool itself has a rather stark look complete with concrete blocks, it is the perfect way to get away, relax, watch a sunset or spend some family time in the wilderness. No doubt you will see wildlife running through the big pines that surround the space if you sit still enough. Maybe even a chicken or two.
Dining
Hungry bathers will be thrilled to know that from April through October, delicious dishes are available at the on-site cafe. Your best bet is to plan your trip on the weekend, as the cafe is only open Friday through Monday. Sourdough biscuits and gravy, flame-grilled ribeye steaks, ice cream, and huckleberry shakes are just a few of the many options at this cozy, casual eatery.
Beer and wine are available for those of age, and kombucha and soda for those who aren’t. There are vegan and gluten-free options, and everything is made from scratch. Just remember to text them when you’re coming. Things are low-key around here. There is a piano, games, and wifi to keep you entertained while you want your food.
If you’re there when the cafe is closed, the shop will have convenience store items available. Appropriately, it’s located next to the springs’ (ethanol-free) gas pump, so you don’t have to worry about the tank running dry on your way to or from your relaxing weekend.
Camping and Motel Rooms
People looking to lengthen their stay have multiple options for accommodations on the property.
Motel Rooms – First, there’s a small motel with everything you’ll need to be comfortable. Book ahead. With only four rooms, it can fill up quickly during busy times. Each comes with 2 double beds, a TV, a bathroom, a fridge/microwave/coffee with private soaking pools available per night.
Visitors staying the night have access to the big hot pool at night and half-off daytime soaks.
Camping – Alternatively, there is plenty of space to camp in your tent, car, or RV with full hookups. The sites are grassy with shade. There is a fee per extra camper and pet.
There’s even one spot reserved for glamping. Laundry and shower options are available as well, so there’s no reason to rough it too much. Guests staying at both the motel and campsites have the option to jump in the pool for free after 10 pm.
Getting There
It’s just under two hours northeast of Boise. Just take East Warm Springs Avenue and turn right to stay on the road for about 4.5 miles. Take the second exit at the traffic circle and follow it out of town, about 4 miles. Then, turn left on ID-21 and enjoy the scenic drive for about 68 miles.
