On the 900-acre ranch and vacation destination in the stunning open land of Stanley, the Idaho Rocky Mountain Ranch provides a glimpse into the frontier’s living past. Situated between the Sawtooth National Forest and the Salmon-Challis National Forest, the property offers hiking, fishing, rafting, horseback riding, mountain biking, and swimming in the natural hot springs outdoor pool.
A stay at this seasonal, upscale ranch is an unwritten itinerary. It’s a place travelers can go to for some rest and solitude or dig their heels into outdoor recreation and adventure.
Natural Hot Springs Pool

The ranch’s swimming pool, which has a deck and lounge chairs, is a great place to spend many sunny afternoons or to relax after an exciting outdoor activity. This pool, heated by a natural hot spring, retains the same pristine water quality as when it was first constructed.
By controlling the amount of water from the springs that flow into the pool, the temperature of this 20′ by 40′ and 3 to 9-foot deep oasis can be kept between 99 and 104 °F. To keep the swimming area clean, it is pressure-washed weekly.
Even if you’ve been there a thousand times, you’ll never forget the first time you stepped into those healing waters under the moonlight or the stars. Recently, they installed a bone-chilling cold shower beside the pool for a mid-soak jolt of revitalization.
Several excellent natural hot springs can be reached on a day trip from the property. In addition to the nearby Sunbeam, Bear Valley, and Basin Creek, tourists coming from Boise may stop at the renowned Kirkham Hot Springs on Highway 21.
Dining

Accommodations are complete with breakfast, picnic lunches, and dinners. Their food is creative, refined, and surprisingly approachable. The food at the Ranch is made in-house with only the freshest ingredients and, if possible, local, organic, and sustainably grown foods like rainbow carrots and golden beets.
The cuisine of the Idaho Rocky Mountain Ranch is a blend of world and western influences, with a focus on locally sourced meats, cheeses, fruits, and vegetables.
Cabins and Lodging

Lodging is only offered from June 16 to September 16. Cabins and four lodge rooms are available.
There are a total of fourteen cabins, comprised of two cottages units in each duplex. A stone fireplace, a private bathroom, and either two twin beds or a king bed in each cabin, along with electric heat.
There is space for three people thanks to the availability of a rollaway bed. Some duplexes can easily accommodate families of four to six people, thanks to the internal linking doors between the cabins.
In each of our four delightfully decorated lodge rooms, you’ll find a queen-sized bed, an electric fireplace, and a shower made from genuine Oakley stone. Lodge rooms are positioned off the corridor close to the Great Room and the lodge’s common areas.
