The Omni Bedford Springs Resort of Bedford, Pennsylvania, is a magnificent destination hotel that perfectly pairs historical elements with modern luxury, including hot springs. Guests can enjoy a wide range of activities, from rejuvenating pools and massages to thrilling outdoor activities.
History

The resort is known for its impressive historical significance beginning in the 1700s when Native Americans founded the on-site mineral springs.
In 1796, Dr. John Anderson purchased the 2,2000-acre property where he constructed his home. Soon after, word got out of the healing and therapeutic benefits of the waters, bringing travelers from across the globe. As the popularity continued to soar, Dr. Anderson built The Stone Inn hotel in 1806 atop a mountain nearby the waters.

The hotel and springs continued to prosper, gathering attention from high-end clientele, including celebrities and wealthy individuals. With this newfound popularity, the resort was labeled The Most Popular Resort in the United States and became home to one of the first US golf courses and mineral-fed indoor pools. Eventually, the area was designated a “National Historic Landmark” in 1984 but closed two years later.
In 2004, the resort underwent a restoration and expansion project, officially opening its doors in 2007. Since then, the resort has continued attracting attention from visitors near and far while winning awards such as the Top 10 Resorts in the Mid-Atlantic & Midwest: Readers’ Choice and the Top 10 Resort Hotels in the Mid-Atlantic.
Mineral Hot Springs

Those seeking to replenish the mind, body, and spirit using hot springs will need to utilize the Bedford Baths within the resort. Known as the “Bedford Bath Ritual”, guests can enjoy a series of replenishing activities geared to transform the body from the inside out.
The start of the ritual begins with a mineral deluge shower. Guests will use the signature body scrub to exfoliate before rinsing with an exhilarating deluge. From there, guests enter the steam room, enjoying the therapeutic aromas for up to ten minutes.
Visitors will rinse in cool water before heading off to the hot spring mineral pools, with relaxing jets for the feet, shoulders, and back. The ritual ends with a dip into the cold mineral pools and a spray with hydrating aroma mist.
The entire experience lasts approximately one hour. Guests will leave the area feeling restored from head to toe, thanks to a combination of hot and cold therapy with advantageous deluges and aromas.
